Hi! We're Alex, Anthony and Baby Ruth! You may recogonize us if you've ever been down to the Des Moines Farmers Market or visited our shop on 42nd! Come say hi next time your'e in the neighborhood!
Alex- The Maker
My driving force in life is art, in all it's forms and I wear many hats as an artist- I'm a photographer, painter, teacher, art therapist and craft enthusiast. I live and breathe art. I have been a teacher for over 15 years, workshop style is my Jam, and I love sharing my knowledge and skills with others.
My other joys in life include our dogs Griffey & Layla, baking, rock climbing and generally anything outdoors! But don't get me wrong, a night in lounging on the couch watching Netflix is right up my alley.
The name By Wysteria comes from my name- my middle name is Wysteria and it has this old world, earthy feel to it which is whimsical and nature inspired, just like me and the products I create.
Anthony- The Accountant (Brains & Muscle)
Anthony has many passions and hobbies. He loves rock climbing, dog training, working out, building/ fixing things, finance, and gaming with friends… just to name a few.
In the beginning of By Wysteria Anthony helped by making all of the candles, and while he has hung up his apron, he still helps the business with his financial expertise, muscles on Saturday Market Days, and great sales skills. He also loves to help organize the shop and workspace. He's a major asset to our operations!
